Hospital Discrimination Due To Lack Of Health Insurance.?

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

want to know what i have to do to talk to someone about discrimination in a hospital due to lack of health insurance.
I have been sick for the last 8 days. Coughing, throwing up, diahrea, fatigue, headaches, hot sweats, chills, nauseous, coughing up yellow/green phlegm and the list goes on. No medicine has worked. So today i went to the e.r. as soon as i walked in they gave me a mask bc of me coughing..and then they treated me like i had something very contagious and they took me to a room that was wierd..had like a drain in the middle of the room and stuff ( i guess to clean the room and keep it sanatized) bc they wanted me away from everyone. a nurse came in and asked me about my health insurance and i told her i didn’t have any. The doctor comes in listens to my breathing and tells me i have a COLD..runs no tests which really pissed me off with the swine flu and stuff going around..i asked him if he was going to run any tests and he says no what i have is just a cold..and he gives me a prescription for tylenol codene..which throws me off too bc as a woman he should have given me a pregnancy test or asked if there was a chance i could be pregnant but he didn’t…and on the paper at the bottom it said come back promptly if i have any of the following symptoms..a few were headaches, colored mucous, body aches..(all stuff i have) I feel really discriminated against and I want to know how to take legal action.

I Have The Swine Flu. Any Tips And Suggestions?

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

I went in to the campus health center and the doctor told me I had Swine Flu. I wouldn’t doubt it. She didn’t give me anything. Just said to treat it in bed at the dorm. My roommate’s sleeping in someone else’s room. I have a face mask. I’ll only go into the hall to go pee. Other people should be safe from me.
I’ve had a fever of 99-100 degrees for a while now. I had two Tylenol capsules about an hour ago. I hardly feel a fever; it’s very cold in the room. My back is in slight pain. My muscles are weak. It’s not so bad that I can’t stand up but I prefer not to. My chest is uncomfortable and it hurts to cough…it’s those long coughs that are more silent, can’t hear anything in the throat. I do not have any nasal/sinus symptoms at the moment. I have a nasty nauseous feeling in my throat every now and then but I’m hungry and my tummy’s growling. I’m chatting and texting. It really isn’t worse than the H5N1(regular flu). Unless it gets worse.
What should I do to get better? What should I expect next? I already passed the chances of getting nausea and vomiting right? Should my fever stay where it’s at?
