Ok since the swine flu is spreading in the USA, I am a bit confused on what to do and to know, A lot of people in my school are wearing masks, (I live in IL) but to me its kinda stupid, but now that its spreading i’m not sure to be alarmed or not. I mean if it was a concern for the northern states wouldn’t EVERYONE be wearing masks? I mean someone was wearing a military gas mask. I only thought that our US variant was not serious but now I hear that its becoming more dangerous. Please can you help me, some of my friends think that this virus is the start of the “Apocalypse.” Please help me out here sine i’m a bit concerned. Also just want to add that if anyone is suffering from it I send you my wishes and I hope you recover from it!

Who shouldn’t be worried of a disease that can kill you
It’s not that the swine flu isn’t serious, but it’s not as bad as everyone is making it out to be. They act like you will catch it just by walking outside, even if you’re a thousand miles away from the closest known case. The media is hyping it up on purpose. And the people at your school are just being paranoid.
But if there is a case reported close to you, I would suggest using a mask.
I agree with it being blown up a bit in the media but on the safe side just remember your basic rules of cleanliness by washing your hands with soap if you have touched other peoples things and before you drink or eat,if someone is sneezing,sniffing a lot,coughing try and stay away as best you can,if any cases pop up in your school then you might like to grab a mask
Its natural to be worried, who would like to hear that there is a flu going around that can kill you. There have been flu epidemics before and I think its probably natural, as these things occur with seasonal changes, depending on all sorts of factors. All we can do for now is take all necessary precautions to prevent ourselves from getting infected by the virus.
I go either way. I am afraid but just because my parents are making a huge deal of it. And also the media make it sound like its going to be the end of the world. But on the other hand I feel you shouldn’t becaues i live like a few hours from mexico and yet non of the county has reported a single infection. Im sure it probably like other flus. Yet you never know
i live in NZ and even I’m freaking a bit.i do think that if is as bad as it’s said to be then i would start worrying.the fact that you live on the same continent as the Mexicans and there is no way to stoop the spreading of swine flu event by closing every countries boarders I’d be scared.
